ആമുഖം
1700 കളില് ആരക്കുഴ കുന്നുംപുറത്ത് വര്ക്കി എന്ന പേരുള്ള കാരണവര് വാഴക്കുളം , കാവനയില് ചൊള്ളാമഠം എന്ന കുടുംബ പേര് സ്വീകരിച്ച് കുടിയേറി പാര്ത്ത് എന്നു വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു.
1986 മുതല് വിവിധ ശാഖകളില് ഉള്ള ഈ കുടുംബം ചൊള്ളാമഠം കുടുംബയോഗം എന്ന കൂട്ടായ്മയുടെ തണലില് ഒരുമയോടെ വിവിധ പ്രവര്ത്തങ്ങളുമായി വിജയകരമായിട്ട് മുന്നോട്ട് പോകുന്നു. അംഗങ്ങള് തമ്മിലുള്ള ബന്ധം ഊഷ്മളമാക്കുന്നതിനും, അതു വഴി സഹോദര മനോഭാവവും, പരസ്പര സഹായവും വളര്ത്തുന്നതിനും,ഏറെ സാധിച്ചു എന്നതില് ഏറെ ചാരിതാര്ത്യം ഉണ്ട്.
കൂട്ടായ്മയുടെ പ്രവര്ത്തനങ്ങള് മുന്നോട്ട് കൊണ്ട് പോകുന്നതിനും വിജയകരമാക്കുനതിനും മുഴുവന് അംഗങ്ങളുടെയും സഹകരണവും, പ്രാര്ഥനയും അഭ്യര്ഥിക്കുന്നു.

ചരിത്ര പശ്ചാത്തലം
കേരള ചരിത്രം പരിശോധിക്കുമ്പോള് പതിനേഴാം നുറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ ഉത്തരാര്ത്ഥത്തില് വിവിധ കുടിയേറ്റ പുറപ്പാടിന്റെ ചരിത്രം കാണാന് സാധിക്കും. ഈ കുടിയേറ്റ പരമ്പര പല നൂറ്റാണ്ടുകള് ആവര്ത്തിക്കപ്പെട്ടിട്ടുണ്ട്. ക്ഷാമം, പ്രതികൂല സാഹചര്യങ്ങള്, ഇട പ്രഭുക്കന്മാരുടെ ആക്രമണം, പരസ്പരമുള്ള പോരുകള്, പുതു മണ്ണിനോടുള്ള ആഭിമുഖ്യം.മുതലായവ ഈ കുടിയെറ്റങ്ങള്ക്ക് പ്രേരകങ്ങള് ആയിരുന്നു. ഇങ്ങനെയുള്ള ഏതെങ്കിലും കാരണത്താല് ആയിരുന്നിരിക്കും നമ്മുടെ പൂര്വ്വികന്മാര് വടക്കന് കുത്തിയതോട്ടില് നിന്നും മൈലക്കൊമ്പിലെയ്ക്കും പിന്നീട് ആരക്കുഴയിലെയ്ക്കും അനന്തരം കാവനയിലെയ്ക്കും കുടിയേറിയത്.
ഏറണാകുളം ജില്ലയിലെ മൂവാറ്റുപുഴ താലൂക്കില് ആവോലി പഞ്ചായത്തില് പെട്ട കാവന കരയില് - കാര്മ്മല കൊവേന്തയ്ക്കും വാഴക്കുളം ഫൊറോന പള്ളിക്കും സമീപം ആയിരുന്നല്ലോ ചൊള്ളാമ0ത്തിലെ ആദ്യ തറവാട് സ്ഥിതി ചെയ്തിരുന്നത്. പാടങ്ങളും അരുവികളും ചെറു കുന്നുകളും സമതലങ്ങളും ഇടകലര്ന്ന ഈ നാട് ഒരു പുണ്യഭമിതന്നെ. ഈ പ്രദേശം ഏറെ പ്രകൃതി രമണിയമാണ്. വിവിധ ജാതി മതസ്ഥര് ഏക സഹോദരങ്ങളെ പോലെ വര്ത്തിക്കുന്നു. പ്രശാന്ത സുന്ദരമായ ജീവിതം.
